| AOL Users, when viewing these pictures you may notice they are blurred, or appear distorted. You see, AOL compresses images so the loading process is quicker. Many websites the images are displayed poorly due to this. It happened to myself whenever I viewed the snappies on this page. Here is how you can fix it: (Courtesy of Sarah Brown Online) AOL 4.0 & 5.0 1. From the My AOL Button Menu, select Preferences 2. Click on the WWW button 3. Select the Web Graphics tab 4. Click on the Use compressed graphics check box to remove the check mark 5. Click on the Apply button Once this change has been made, you will need to purge any prior instances of web pages you may have stored in memory. This will allow you to see the effects of the changes you make. (By the way, it's a good idea to occasionally follow these steps to delete temporary internet files anyway, because as they build up, they can really slow down your computer). 1. In the same AOL Internet Properties window, click on the General tab 2. Click on the Settings... button 3. Click on Delete Files... in the Temporary Internet Files section 4. Confirm the selection - Click on OK (It is not necessary to check Delete all Subscription Content) 5. Click on OK, to close Settings window 6. Click on OK, to close AOL Internet Properties window 7. Close the Preferences window |
